About the Doctoral Student Corner
The AIS Doctoral Student College is hosting a series of events as a part of this year’s AMCIS Doctoral Student Corner, designed especially for doctoral students attending AMCIS 2024. All our events will be at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
Our community is dedicated to creating opportunities and providing support for all doctoral students. At AMCIS 2024, we will continue this endeavor by offering a variety of events designed to facilitate networking with faculty and peers and enhance your conference experience.
We invite doctoral students at all levels to join us at AMCIS 2024.

Welcome Reception
Thursday, August 15 – 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
This event is our official welcome reception for the Doctoral Student Corner. During this hour, students can casually meet and interact with each other at the conference site. You will have the chance to win prizes by participating in our Bingo! Our scavenger hunt also kicks off at the Welcome Reception.
Senior Scholar Panel: Co-hosting with AIS College of Academic Leadership

Eunyoung Kim is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Management and Information Systems in College of Business at Mississippi State University. Her research focuses on understanding collaboration with AI for organizational and individual decision-making. She has published her work in AMCIS and peer-reviewed journals in the IS field and has served as conference reviewer such as AMCIS, ECIS, HICSS, ICIS, and PACIS, and journal reviewer. She also served as Region 1 coordinator of AIS Doctoral Student College in 2023.

Biju Varghese is a first-year doctoral student at the Saunders College of Business, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), NY. He has several years of experience in the industry prior to joining the PhD program at RIT. His current research focuses on cybersecurity training. Biju has served as a reviewer for AMCIS, PACIS, and AOM.

Himasmita Das is a third-year PhD Candidate in the Information Systems area at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Her research focuses on digital technologies and small businesses with special focuses on smartphone, digital platforms and digital public infrastructure. She has published her worked in peer-reviewed journal and IFIP 8.6 conference and has served as a reviewer for IFIP 8.6, and AOM. Her research interest includes digital transformation, digital infrastructure, digital public goods, ICT4D.
Wenting (Kayla) Jiang

Wenting (Kayla) Jiang is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Management Science and Information Systems in Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Her research primarily revolves around two areas: misinformation and text analytics, and healthcare analytics and disasters. Her recent articles have appeared in the Journal of Business Research and Journal of Medical Internet Research. In addition, Kayla presented her work at conferences such as AMCIS, INFORMS, DSI, PRE-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium, and WITS. Kayla also served as a reviewer for AMCIS, PACIS, ICIS, WITS, and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. Since 2021, Kayla has been involved in several volunteer work in AIS. She served as a Review Coordinator and Conference Volunteer for AMCIS2022 and a Regional Coordinator of AIS Doctoral Student College.
